How to update Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos to Android 4.4.2 KitKat


This is important that you must know that flashing or rooting your phone damages phone’s warranty, flashing smartphones could even result in getting the phone permanently dead. You’ll not receive any updates officially from Samsung, however you might receive update from the ROM you’re using. Unofficial Firmware could also have bugs, which can make your phone experience even worst. So, try the tutorial at your own risk, and do not blame us for problems and bugs to us as we already warned you.

Pre-requisties:

  • Charge your phone up to 80%.
  • Make sure to take backup of your phone's data.
  • Currently running Android  version 4.2.2.
  • Your smart phone must be rooted and have latest ClockworkMod installed.

How to update Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos to Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Step 1 – Download the firmware and Google Apps file.


Step 2 – Copy these file to your Phone memory Card.

Step 3- By pressing Volume Up + Home + Power Keys boot your phone in Recovery Mode.

Step 4 - Do a backup of current firmware.

Step 5 – Now you have to perform wipe tasks for it first select Wipe Data / Factory Reset and then Wipe Cache Partition. And then go to Advanced and then select Wipe Dalvik Cache.

Step 6 – After it, in the main menu of the Recovery mode –

choose Install ZIP from SD Card

select Choose ZIP from the SD Card

select the downloaded ROM.

If it asks for confirmation, simply confirm it.

Step 7 – Repeat the Step 6, but this time choose the downloaded Google Apps file.

Step 8 – Now reboot your Phone, your phone will be rebooted and it should be running the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
